5 September 2004:

I added the main cutoff switch and the fire extinguisher pull knob on the dashboard. I made the switch handle by inserting a styrene slab into an item from my parts box. The pull knob is a headed pin painted fluorescent red. 

I painted the base with white, then masked and applied red on it. The front part as a checkerboard was the hardest to master. I first tried the hood before possibly ruining the body paint. It was successful!
I used Revell's masking sheet. I traced the lines of the checkerboard with #11 knife and removed alternate squares. Then applied black paint over and removed the masking squares before the paint cured (to prevent chipping if done after the cured paint).
I went on to the rest of the car and completed the checkerboard pattern. I had to retouch some errors with a brush.
I found a gauge cluster in my parts box and after painting black and scraping the bezels and figures, glued it on the floor.
For the fire extinguisher tank, I used an electrolytic capacitor. I applied putty on top and sanded the putty to a hemispherical shape.
I changed the seat with one from Lancia Delta kit because it had belt passage holes in it. I made the belts by drawing on the computer and printing. I painted the buckles with chrome silver (though it looks like aluminium on paper) and applied Sabelt decals on. 
I glued the seat to the floor and assembled the belts around the rear element of the roll cage.
 6 September 2004:

I installed the fire extinguisher tank and plumbing. I used thin steel wire for the plumbing.
Almost finished. The decals and the window nets will follow.
13 September 2004:

I made the nets by cutting pieces from the fiberglass joint mesh for plasterboards and painting black. I prepared the race number and pilot name decals on the computer, and cut the rest from remaining decal sheets in my parts box.
